Michelene & Darin: Our Story and Engagement
Michelene Marie Bennett was born on June 8th, 1978 in a little town called Garrettsville, Ohio. She grew up with her brother Trevor as the elder of the two. She had her first job at the age of 14 at the local Dairy Queen. In 1996 she decided to leave her small town and venture to the big city to attend college. She went to Mount St. Joseph located in a small suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio. In 2000 she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts and landed a great manager position with a local company. In 2006 she took a position as a catering manager at a full service Holiday Inn that led her to her current career with the Kroger company. She started working as a Corporate Meeting Planner for Kroger in 2012. In 2010 she met Darin Bowman and her life has been awesome ever since.
Darin Ray Bowman was born on October 5, 1976 in the big-little town called Canton, Ohio. He grew up the youngest of four brothers who beat him up every day. Darin was a 1980’s Nintendo junkie and enjoyed playing baseball when he wasn’t saving the princess Zelda or jumping on Koopa Troopas. Darin went to the University of Akron before transferring to the University of Cincinnati in 2001. He graduated with a Bacholor’s of Science in Graphic Design and has worked in various design firms in Cincinnati since then. In 2010 Darin graduated with his second degree in Software Engineering Programming. Darin is the lead designer and e-marketing coordinator for AgentMedia at a publishing company in Kentucky. Darin has an amazing 13 year old daughter named Amiah Monét who attends the performing arts school downtown Cincinnati. Michelene and Darin were recently blessed with Evan Ray born this year on January 7th.
On July 4th, 2012, Michelene and Darin spent the evening at the Ault Park Fourth of July festival in Cincinnati, Ohio. They were there celebrating the anniversary of their first date which was at that same place, exactly two years to-the-date prior to that day. After that first date, they knew that they were meant to be together. Darin popped the question to Michelene that night during the spectacular display of the fireworks grand finale. For whatever reason – she said YES! Now it’s time to just count down the days!
